Help

Six things people ask. If yours is not here, the terms and the privacy page carry the detail.

How is my rating worked out?
Standard Elo. Everyone starts at 1200, and it counts as a rating once you have finished five games. Early games move it a lot and later ones move it a little, which is what stops a handful of lucky wins from putting a new account near the top. Computer opponents are left out of every ladder.
What are coins for?
Nothing yet, and that is the honest answer. You earn them by arriving, by playing, and by coming back on consecutive days, and they cannot buy a rating, a rank, or any advantage in a game. There is nothing to spend them on at the moment; when there is, it will only ever be things that change how the game looks.
Why am I sometimes playing a computer?
Because at quiet times there may be nobody waiting. Rather than leave you looking at a spinner, you may be matched with a computer opponent of about your own strength. It is always said on screen before the game starts.
How do I add a friend?
Search their name on the friends page, or use their friend code, or open their profile after a game and add them from there. They have to accept before either of you appears on the other's list.
Can I play without signing in?
Yes, and most of the site works that way. A guest account lives on this device only, so it cannot be found by other players and it does not follow you to your phone. Signing in later keeps the rating and games you already have.
How do I have my data deleted?
By email. There is no button for it, because we would rather check that a request is really from you than make one irreversible click. The privacy page carries the address and says exactly what is held.
